1969–1984[]
Along with the rest of the Bell System, WE's identity was updated with the 1969 Bell System logo designed by Saul Bass.
1984–1995[]
When AT&T divested the Bell System in 1984, they kept Western Electric and Bell Laboratories. When this occurred, Western Electric simply dropped the Bell mark, using the version occasionally used in the past. Western Electric came to an end in 1995, when AT&T changed the name of AT&T Technologies to Lucent Technologies (now remnants operating as Nokia via their acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent, the successor to Lucent) in preparation for its spinoff; Lucent became independent in 1996.
