Talkback logo 2003

In 2000, Talkback was acquired by Pearson Television. At the same time, the logo was altered so that it was formed entirely in lowercase. In 2001, Pearson became part of the RTL Group who renamed the UK television production unit FremantleMedia.

In 2003, Talkback was merged with Thames, to form Talkback Thames. The two companies had separate identities on all programmes until 2005 when all productions became credited to talkbackTHAMES.

Second era



In 2012, FremantleMedia split Talkback Thames into four companies, Talkback for comedy entertainment, Thames for mainstream entertainment, Boundless for factual programming and Retort for scripted comedy.


Talkback dhx

In 2018, FremantleMedia was acquired and folded into DHX Media. As a result, Talkback, along with all former FremantleMedia units, became subsidiaries of DHX Media.
