In 2000, Talkback was acquired by Pearson Television. At the same time, the logo was altered so that it was formed entirely in lowercase. In 2001, Pearson became part of the RTL Group who renamed the UK television production unit FremantleMedia.
In 2012, FremantleMedia split Talkback Thames into four companies, Talkback for comedy entertainment, Thames for mainstream entertainment, Boundless for factual programming and Retort for scripted comedy.
In 2015, FremantleMedia was acquired and folded into DHX Media. As a result, Talkback, along with all former FremantleMedia units, became subsidiaries of DHX Media.
