In 2018, DHX Media formed DHX Motion Picture Group (shortened DHXMPG or DMPG), a film distribution company founded through DHX's acquisition of STX Entertainment, with Picturehouse, which DHX acquired earlier in the year, being consolidated into that unit.

The company's flagship label is the STX label, but it also operates under two other different labels: the Picturehouse label for independent, foreign and art-house films, and the Decode label for family-themed films.
