New BBC Radio logos were introduced in 1975, with the numeral of the station and the word 'Radio' inside of it. Along with the Radio 1 logo of the time, this era is the most memorable logo for the station. This image is a modified version of a picture from Radiothings.com.

1990–1995[]

BBC Radio Two 1991-1995

In 1990, a shift to corporate identity began, and BBC Radio received new logos, based on the 'BBC Radio' logo at the top with the slightly obscured numeral below, with the number displayed as a word beside it as well.

1995–1997[]

BBC Radio 2 (1995)

In 1995, BBC Radio 1 received a new logo, but still using the same logo template as before. At the same time, the other four stations had their logos refreshed slightly to be more simpler. The numerals were made clearer, the word of the number of the station was removed, and the colours of the logos were adjusted to be slightly darker.

1997–2001[]

BBC Radio 2 (88-91 FM) 1997

Introduced in October 1997 which saw all departments, brands, and channels of the BBC using the same logo typeface and layout, with a view on saving costs with colour logos. This version includes the frequency, but the logo was also used without it. The personality of the brand was conveyed in other means.

2001–2007[]

BBC Radio decided to break away from this style and introduced new logos for its national stations in 2001, with the rest of the BBC would soon follow suit. This Radio 2 logo refers to its past, as its predecessor was named 'The Light Programme'.

2007–2022[]

BBC Radio 2

In 2007, BBC Radio decided to create a more unified look for its stations by putting the numeral in a circle, with the 'BBC Radio' logo to the top left of this.

2022–present[]

BBC Radio 2 2022

As part of the BBC’s broadcaster-wide rebrand on 20 October 2021 and in preparation of its 100th anniversary in 2022, BBC Radio 2 launched a new logo that incorporated numeral in Reith typeface and existing circle, with the new 'BBC Radio' part moved to the centre left in line with all national radio stations. The new short variant of the logo first appeared in November 2021 in Children in Need promotion and making their first appearance in full form at BBC Radio 2 Piano Room Month in February 2022.
