UK Arena was launched on 1st November 1997, along with UK Horizons, UK Style and the rebranded UK Gold. The original design was created by Lambie-Nairn.

2001–2004[]

UK Drama 2001

New looks and idents for the UKTV channels, created by Lambie-Nairn, were launched on 8 May 2001.

"UK Drama is exactly what its name suggests; emotionally gripping storytelling. The new identity creates a series of drum 'fanfares', suitable both for 'classic' period drama and more contemporary material. Three drummers perform in unison under suitably dramatic, sometimes startling, lighting effects." - Lambie-Nairn

On 8 March 2004, all UKTV channels were renamed to include the parent company's brand in their names. UK Drama become UKTV Drama.

Alibi[]

2008–2015[]

On 7 October 2008, UKTV's entertainment channels were overhauled. UKTV Gold become G.O.L.D., the general channel Watch was launched and UKTV Drama was rebranded as the crime drama channel Alibi. The tagline for the new channel become "The deadliest place on TV". The new identity was created by Red Bee Media and included four idents from launch.

2015–present[]

Alibi 2015

On 1 July 2015, Alibi launched a revamped look with a new range of idents. Those idents involved the camera following a red piece of string that joins clues of a crime scene together until the camera goes to the whole room and then the Alibi logo is eventually traced.

On 29 November 2023, UKTV announced its intention to launch 'U' - a new masterbrand that will unite its family of free-to-air channels and its streaming service in 2024.

Launching in Summer 2024, the move will see its current streaming service UKTV Play transition to U and UKTV's family of free-to-air channels will become U&Dave, U&Drama, U&Yesterday and U&W. Its pay channels will transition to U&Alibi, U&Gold, U&Eden at a later date.
